Blackberry sorbet

Let’s make home-made sorbet! Sorbet is similar to ice-cream. But it is frozen dessert and only contains just fruit and sugar – not dairy like ice-cream. So, let’s kill our bore-some time and make sorbet while staying at home.

All the ingredients are available at METRO Wholesale Myanmar. 


  • 800 g blackberries

  • 100 g sugar

  • 100 ml water

  • 1 vanilla pod

  • 2 leaves gelatine

  • 1 lemon

  • 2 cl orange liqueur

Cooking and Preparation:

  1. Soften the gelatine in cold water, then squeeze it out. Bring the sugar to the boil together with the water, the vanilla pod and a little lemon peel.

  2. Leave briefly to cool and dissolve the gelatine in it. Put all of this through a sieve.

  3. Purée everything together with the blackberries, a shot of lemon juice and the orange liqueur.

  4. Press everything through a sieve and leave to freeze in the ice machine.

  5. Cooking Time: approx. 1 hour, Serves: 6 persons
